Advice on rod for inshore - M or MH?

Just getting back into fishing with acquisition of new boat after losing our boat/camp in Delacroix in Katrina. I want to treat myself to a nice reel/rod for inshore fishing - trout, reds, flounder, drum, sheepshead in and around Lake Borgne.
I am not knowledgeable on gear, but have done some research and have decided on a Shimano Stradic FJ 3000 for the reel and the 7'2" 13 Fishing Omen Green for the rod.
Should I get the MH (10-20lbs) or the M (8-17lbs) both with fast action? We typically fish live bait, but I would like to get into more artificial. Does any have any experience with this rod?

I bought a M-H because that's all they had in stock of my brand of rod, just sits in the holder after one trip.

I use my MH the most. I'm also a big fan of the micro eyes.

OhFace is much smarter than me, and catches a lot more fish than I've dreamed of...
but I sure like my M (St. Croix)
Enjoy either!

Medium. Or even ML if available. Would only go MH if you were going to exclusively use it for reds. I think a MH is way overkill for trout.

M for top water and MH for most other applications.

Seems like the board is somewhat split with a slight edge to the M. I was leaning towards the M-H, but might just go with the M now because that's what they have in stock at Puglias.

a Medium rod will be much more fun to catch marsh fish, and a 7ft length still has enough backbone to handle a nice red.

Medium rod will be much more sensitive for subtle trout bites if you are fishing plastics.

MH guy myself. Its not about overkill for me. Its about what if/ when that 30 lb red comes through. I wanna be able to fight back. Plus i can feel much more when carolina riggin.

This. If you fish with a cork, the MH is the ticket in the wind.
7' rod is a win win.

3 rods I bring when I go fishing
6' M bait cast
7' MH spin cast micro eyes
7'11" H bait cast (use it for frogs and popping cork)

The obvious answer is...
Why settle for one rod?
What I need is....
more rodholders!
