Brisket $1.99/lb Target on Siegen

Just passing it along, they had brisket for $1.99 a lb at the Siegen Target. It wouldn't have been news a few years ago, but this is the cheapest I've seen around here in a good while.

Damn. I looked at a $70 brisket today. I passed. I'd buy the hell out of those.

The Targets in BR are Super Targets. Of course the ones in the Nola area aren't.

For all I know that price is just at that one Target here. I've found a lot of variation in sales on produce from one to the other here in BR. The on one Siegen is undergoing a remodel, so that may have something to do with that price.

for a bigger brisket, i like to mix 2 cups brown sugar, 3 T Tony's, a t black pepper, and a t each of onion powder, garlic powder, and 1/2 T of dry mustard. Rub all over and hit the smoker.

8 to 10 the smoker and 8 to 10 in the oven at 225 . I cook 'em up to 18 to 20 hours if needed.

Same for Biloxi. Hell, I should just thank my lucky stars we even have a target in general.

Kudos to this board again. Bought 2 briskets at $1.99/lb... Their pork spare ribs are also $1.99/lb and hams are $1.29/lb

Cook till 160 internal temp, wrap it up and cook until 190-195 internal. Enjoy!

Had to run to BR so I stopped at Target and snagged one to smoke this week.
