Norman Robinson was a really cool dude. I remember when he stayed at the hotel I worked at during a hurricane scare, us and a lot of their news team were chilling in the restaurant bullshitting for hours. It was weird to hear him curse, I remember thinking.

I believe he did go to rehab for this. I think it was about 2008.

In 2001 we had an RV parked on St Charles and Norman's brother was parked right next to us.
On day three I ran out of gas. I had rigged my reserve tank to also supply the generator, which gave me tex extra gallons, but also meant when it was dry I couldn't drive anywhere. Well ol' Norman Robinson himself gave me 5 gallons in a jerry can and that got me to the Exxon on Lee Circle at 2 am while my group held me spot and Norm moved his rig so I could get in and out.
That was just a great week though. 20 years old, with parents RV, full of exotic drugs and booze at Mardi Gras parked under the bridge at Lee Circle.
