Has anyone had any experience with this food? I have 2 Boston terriers about almost 2 years old who currently are on science diet advanced fitness. Recently they have been having diarrhea with blood. They also throw up a few times a week. The vet said they had a food allergy and gave them some medicine. It makes me wonder why the vet pushes science diet so much, maybe to have repeat customers with health problems? I was thinking of changing to this brand after the good reviews.

Poor choice from my research.

My dog only eats Blue Buffalo Basics, much to my chagrin because that shite is expensive.

Because that's what he sells.

I personally think diamond naturals beef+rice is the best bang for buck feed out there, but that's just my opinion and some people don't think that counts for much.

Taste of the wild is good stuff. I think it's far more than somebody needs to spend on dog food, but once again it's opinion.

I've been using the 4- health grain free feed from tractor supply. It's made a huge difference with my lab.

I feed my dogs TOTW. Has as good or better ingredients than blue buffalo at a cheaper price.

For people used to buying cheap dog food, its not as expensive as it seems. Because its more nutritious per volume, you dont feed them near as much and as a big plus they shite a lot less.

Once you get out of grain-heavy feed, the amount you feed doesn't change much.

I've tried a whole lot of stuff on dogs that were in the process of getting the wheels ran off them, and stuff with rice seems to be the best. Diamond lamb and rice has been great, but beef and rice is a little cheaper and the dogs seem to like it more.

TOTW is absolutely good stuff and I know people who feed it. They don't seem to feed any less per pound than I do and their dogs don't look any better than mine. They like it and keep buying it though, and there's no need to change what's been working for them.

Agreed. Had a coworker who switched from some cheap walmart stuff to totw for his 70# catahoula and the dog now eats about half what he was eating and is much healthier.

For some dogs it doesnt matter, but for dogs prone to allergies or skin/coat conditions the food makes a world of difference.

Yea it does. Diamond is pretty much the bottom end of grain-free stuff and that's what I go with. I just can't bring myself to spend $50 on a 30# bag of feed.

I used to feed taste of the wild, switched to Costco chicken and rice. Try it out, highly rated and pretty damn cheap. I want to say $28 for the huge bag.

TOTW is good, but we changed to Whole Earth Farms grain free. It's the same quality and is .30-.40 per pound cheaper (we usually pay $34 or $35 for 25lbs vs $50 for 28lbs) It's also available at Petco and we always have a coupon of some sort to save even more.

We've fed TOTW for years. It has been the best deal out there for grain free food for a long time. Science diet isn't much better than ol roy, despite the fancy name and high price. It sucks.

The last time I was in tractor supply, I noticed they're selling a new brand of food called 4Health grain free, or something like that. I think it is actually made by Diamond. The price on it is quite a bit lower than even TOTW, so I'm going to at least do some research on it.

TOTW is decent food.

Fromm and Merrick are better. Both are similar price as TOTW. Merrick is better than Fromm.

The wife switched our little dog to Blue Buffalo Wilderness becasue of an allergy (was feeding Iams). That stuff is exspensive but the allergy problem did clear up. Luckily it doestn eat much being so small.

You also might try switching the meat source. Some dogs can develop an allergy to it. Like if you are feeding chicken, find a fish recipe that doesn't have chicken in it.
