I know about the fire and that they had shut down for a while then I'm reading some articles that Kleinpeter had some sort of partnership to get them back on their feet.

I was thinking of picking some up on the way back to Texas if it's still available? Does anyone know where I can find it if it still exists? Thanks

Yes Calandros has it and I think Alexander's.

And Kleinpeter did help them tremendously but of course no one remembers that after their milk spoiled arly.

Get a block of their butter. It's great stuff.

I was planning on getting 2 small chocolate milks a couple gallons of regular milk and some butter

Is that the only places you know of that have it?

I guess Klienpeter's should be absolved of putting out a shitty product for six months because they helped Smith's.

What would that prove? My job performance wouldn't allow me to ignore a screwup for 6 months.

I don't expect perfection, but they dropped the ball on the situation and somehow there are still loyals knighting and refusing to admit that they did anything wrong.

Ralph's market also carries it, and used to be at the farmers market in BR on Saturdays. Their chocolate milk, ice cold is hard to beat, and the butter is fantastic.

I don't really have a dog in this fight. I don't buy Kleinpeter so I don't care.

I'm just saying no company is perfect

Don't make a point of it, but it seems our stances on some issues are sometimes opposite.

I think once I disagreed with you because you claimed the parking lot layout of Alexanders was terrible.

I happen to end up in a lot of the same threads as Martini,(similar interest I suppose) but I am kind of split, about half the time I agree with him and the other half I disagree, but either way I express my opinion and move on.

I honestly don't keep up with other posters and who I disagree with. I remember some specific stories/posters if they stand out. Post from mobile 99% of the time so I barely see the name, just read the comment.

Yes Whole Foods and Rouses. Not sure if I've seen their creole cream cheese lately though. And while I'm thinking about that I haven't seen John Folses either.

Smith's Creole Cream Cheese Cheesecake was the ultimate. I wish I could get more of that.

John Folse shut down his operation a couple of years ago if I'm not mistaken

Yes he did. I just read that after I posted. The Bulgarian cheese makers turned 65 and wanted to move back so he just locked the doors. Shame. They were making some of the best stuff which I thought was much better than a lot of his other stuff. Still see his olive oil around once in awhile. Great stuff and it's grown in Donaldsonville behind his plant.

Does anywhere in the Lafayette area carry Smith's?

I'm trying to find something that isn't too far out of the way on my commute home

Kleinpeter can't take care of their own milk, much less someone else's now. And no, creole cream cheese is not available as of now.
