Though I'd share a little gem that is easy, quick, and VERY good.
Dissolve a little clam base into hot water. Finely dice a few onions, add to water.
Add a little salt, some artichoke hearts that have been cut into slivers, and a little black pepper.
Simmer this for an hour or so, add a little fresh parsley, and you're good to go.

Did you use canned or jarred artichokes?

Honestly, never put much thought into it. I suppose both would work, but I usually make a huge batch with #10 cans.
NOT marinated art hearts.

I'm sure as long as they're packed in water, they'd work. I can't stand canned artichoke bottoms, though. They taste like cans to me. I can use the hears with leaves for some reason, but usually they're buried in a dressing or something else.
