Depth-chart notes: Other than Robinson, there weren't any surprises with the players lining up on the starting units. Ramon Humber took snaps at outside linebacker with the first string, rotating with Parys Haralson, while the Saints lined up in mostly 3-4 defensive alignments.

Noteworthy among the backup rotation: The second-string line was Bryce Harris at left tackle, Senio Kelemete at left guard, rookie Matt Armstrong at center, Marcel Jones at right guard and Ty Nsekhe at right tackle. Rookie Tavon Rooks worked with the third string at left tackle. Mike Golic Jr. worked as the third-string center.

I sort of called Harris at LT, but I thought CSP said they saw Rooks strictly as a RT during the post draft presser.

With so many RT types we have to try these guys somewhere.

Interesting to see Jones at guard. I guess this is his last go around and they figure he won't cut it at tackle.

And yeah that's surprising with Rooks because Payton specifically said otherwise. This could also just be the try them out and see where they work best phase.

Also interesting to see Humber on the outside. Maybe it's a way to get him in the rotation more though I think he also practiced a little on the outside last year too.

Thought so too. I hope they just needed a body there cause when he's been in at OLB he's looked terrible I thought. I liked when he played a bit at ILB didn't look bad with his speed.

Agree about Humber. For his size he plays well at ILB, but on paper he should work better at WOLB. I only really saw him at ILB in pre-season so it's kind of hard to tell at this point if he'll work out at OLB. He plays the run pretty well and seems to have a knack for getting into the backfield. (next Sam Mills anyone?
