Just interested in what OBers will be fishing the CHS rodeo coming up on the 19th and 20th? Me and gorillacoco and another brother will be tackling rig/bluewater categories.

Who is giving us their money?

I am planning to be there. We are going to be targeting the specks and reds. My buddy and I are bringing our sons to fish their first rodeo and have some fun. My other friend is fishing offshore on an overnight Tuna trip with his boss. They did pretty well last year on the tuna trip.

I'll be fishing the nonexistent kayak division for the 3rd straight year

Time to give the boaters a run for their money again!

Need to petition Randow/rodeo organizers to add an inshore kayak division. Even if they just did either a 1st place for each species or a total weight for one each of the different species.

Actually got a call from Glen yesterday asking if I wanted to help organize a kayak division for next year. So it's in the works!

I would be interested. How do you get invited to such a prestigious event?

I'm definitely interested in helping setting up something for the yaks. I have some ideas I have been kicking around for a while.

I've been e-mailing Randow already and would love to jump in and help. What year were you? I'm '05 but had brothers in '03, '01, '89 (I think) and '87.

10-4. I think I'll do some yak fishing. Don't feel like dragging the boat over.

I had emailed him last year about getting a division started as a way to expand participation. They have a few new rule changes being implemented for this year, but next year they are wanting to roll out the kayak division.

Majority of kayak tournaments are slam tournaments- red, trout, flounder. I don't think they will setup the kayak division like the adults, with 1-3 places in each division. But I could see a combined total weight- 1 fish per species- working out. Maybe an additional category for leopards

Good deal. I just e-mailed Glen offering to help if he wanted additional input. I fished the rodeo back in '09 and we did awesome, but due to a myriad of circumstances the past several years I have been unable to make it. Looking to make my return this year.

Wondering what is going to happen in rig division, with federal red snapper closed.

State is open. Just don't get caught. Think it was the same last year.
