What's the deal with the huge storm in the southwest gulf? That's really large and it surprises me that no rotation or forecast.

you could at least attempt to explain what kick back means.

Think he's talking about when the colored lines turn from going west and head east.

Gulf looks like its fixing to be full of moisture

I thought he meant the "kick" or "right hook" in the projected path.

The forecast shows that it moves more or less west. Then after about three or four days, some of the forecosts show it "kicking" back to the east. Could be wrong, but that is how I took it.

Would the kickback be contingent upon it developing or not? If it develops is kicks back, and if not it keeps going west?

Hard to say, a stronger system probably has more of a SW component to the track based on current forecast for the 500 mb and above pattern. What impact that has on the ultimate track is too complicated to guess at this point.

Regardless, at this point all the reliable guidance keeps it weak as it tracks W. Even if it were to survive the trek across the Gulf and turn back NE then it probably wouldn't have much time to strengthen.

That has moved into Mexico and convection in the BoC is associated with a weak surface low.

So this thing is pretty much done except for a rain event for south Texas?

Seems like it.
A plant I deal with in south La had to go into their storm ready mode yesterday afternoon over this stupid shite. Had all kinds of people come in to work all weekend to start pre-paring things for a hurricane event. I can't even imagine the amount of money that was wasted.

Unless the weather channel guy straight up lied, I just learned that Invest stands for investigation/investigating I'm very familiar with Tornado terminology, Atlantic weather patters, not so much

If badly spelled words are the best you can come up with as a problem on the O-T, you need to be looking a little harder.

Less money than if the hurricane did happen and damage was done. The next hurricane they prepare for will pay for all the times one didn't come.

Is this thing supposed to sit over the gulf states for awhile or will it come and go fairly quickly?
