Ok, I'm going totally cliche here...

We can put a man on the moon(in the 60s no less), and have devised invisibility cloaks, but we can't make a battery that'll last longer than 1 day, if that?

I'm not super tech-savvy, but why can't there be a battery that lasts a week, what am I missing here?

Not saying this is so, just an honest question, you think companies have ways to produce a batter that lasts wayyyyyyy longer?

If we're talking about cell phones, mine easily makes it a day with normal use.

I have a drone that has a battery 3x the size of the one in my iPhone. I can only fly it 7 minutes before completely killing the battery. The fact that my phone does last all day is amazing IMO.

I dont understand why people are needing of a cell battery lasting longer than a day. You are going to charge it at night, every night, even if it is suppose to last 2 days.

1 day is really all that is needed

Google's self-driving car will run on 4 D cells that last all day.

Ok...Then I would have to ask (1) what phone are you using that doesn't have a decent battery (2)what are you doing that takes longer than one day

They can last a week if you want to go back to phones this size...

You can't have EVERYTHING. You can't have the biggest, brightest screen, fastest processor, slimmest design, lightest weight, AND extreme battery life. At some point the laws of physics kick in.

I still think we're missing the point here. The main point is, why can't it be done?

But to answer:

Note 3 - Battery life is great, first phone I've ever had that i can say that. But i use it a ton for work and personal use, so if I have a really busy day away from my desk at work, it'll usually barely(less than 10%)get me through the day.

The Nokia!!

I actually downloaded a Snake app, best game ever. Unfortunately, 15 or so years later, it's just not the same and couldn't keep my interest.

Because people want phones that are thin&light, fast, and have good battery life. Pick two. Or, put another way, something has to give and a satisfactory balance has to be found. One day of use seems to be a good compromise.

Cell Phones are using strong processors these days that use up a lot of energy. Battery companies are finding it hard to find ways to squeeze out the most out of these batteries. It's not easy for them to just make it better

Doesn't look like it to me. Especially if you look at web browsing and video time.

And again, you guys are focusing way too much on me on the "1 day" thing. I'm speaking in general.
