Episodes 8 and 9 comments.

Episode 8

This was a pretty good episode and I actually didn't remember to much about it.

I'm not exactly sure why they would distrust wlaternate so much, I know how it worked in the previous timeline but how would that change with peter gone. Probably doesn't matter oh well.

Peter and Lincoln were so stupid just to sit on the dock, your alternate was moving around in the world, with the fact that they track your every move, you wouldn't be the least bit concerned that maybe they would figure out that you lied and come and capture you? Learn some common sense

I did like how Alternate Lincoln and Liv quickly found out that something was fishy about what was going on, but right before they found out was stupid. Ok so two guys in hancuffs in the back of a cop car designed to prevent people from controlling the car somehow caused you to take control of the truck, manage to escape the back seat, unhancuff yourself, grab the officers gun and kill both. That story is more believable than the driver was a rat and got a call from someone to take out the two prisoners. Come on liv you can't be that stupid.

ok so Walternate decided to waited till peter was in the room to kill his scientist who was a shapeshifter?

I can't remember any other issues from this episode.

DAVID ROBERT JONES

I remembered this from my first watch, but he was awesome in his first appearance, he is likely to be awesome in this next go around. David Robert Jones stories are awesome.

Alternate Broyles is a Mole

Episode 9

ok this was a pretty awesome episode. David Robert Jones is back and the show has officially become a lot better.

I know David Robert Jones is a criminal and evil, but even when evil dudes do really cool things, it is fun to watch.

I don't really remember this episode that much from my first watch through, but it was really good.

Even though I watched both of these episodes today so much of this is blending together it is hard to remember which stuff went with each episode. I'm commenting after watching.

Anyway I'm so excited to get the David Robert Jones story rolling again, plus somewhat the observers. These two aspects of the stories have been strong and made for good stuff. Season 4 started on a low note, not very good, but since Peter has come back and now David Robert Jones is back, plus the observers. The show has gotten so much better.

First the Flu!

then Thanksgiving!

then the Ear Ache!

Followed by the tooth ache!

Followed by the marathon man torture scene tooth ache!

I wrote this up on Sunday but couldn't post. The pain was so bad I couldn't do much of anything until today.

The reviews were brief and lacking my normal visual flare.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Season 4 Episode 4
Subject 9
Ghost Peter doesn't work for me. Either he exists or he doesn't. If he removed himself from time, then he is gone. Time travel and alternate reality paradoxes make my head hurt.
Ghosts need love too!
Wish Olivia would tell Nina to shut the F up and give her the files. We all know you have every last bit of info Nina.
Claire! Ha! Afreux actually gave Walter some hell for that.
Walter be crazy!
Halfway in and this is a bit of a boring monster of the week and not really a good one.
Ok, so it isn't just a monster of the week. The blue monster is Peter.
By the way, none of this makes any sense whatsoever. None. If Peter removed himself from the timeline and if New Peter remembers the past, he should remember he removed himself from the timeline. Head hurts, too much nonsense going on.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Season 4 Episode 5
Novation

Overall a decent episode, but due to the compressed time of 1 hour format it was still a bit ridiculous that Dr. Wizard was able to complete a cure in 10 minutes at the lab and even more ridiculous that Olive was right behind Asian Shifter yet she was still able to kill 2 federal agents, shift and change clothes with one of them in 10 seconds. And for the 100th time, they didn't think to check the last person in contact with the shifter.

John Noble is so damn good at expressing emotion. Some actors are really horrible when tearing up or showing sadness. Noble is a beast.

Serum worked but since Dr. Wizard didn't have time to keep copious notes, it isn't like they have tons of it or an understanding of how to make it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Season 4 Episode 6
And Those We've Left Behind
The time travel fire was creepy.
Pretty weak segue to get Peter back on the team. "we think this has something to do with you" blah blah blah. Not saying it won't have something to do with Peter but that was a pretty big Jump to Conclusions just so they can bring Peter into the group.
Mother and girl can't find her stuffed animal which is 2 feet away. :P
Where are the observers? If Peter was supposed to be erased and September was supposed to have fixed the problem, shouldn't the Observers be losing their shite with all the new changes to the timeline?
Ohhh. Now I remember this one. Sad little episode. Jimmy James groundhog style.
Have we figured out what the heck Lincoln is up to? He isn't a full team member but he shows up sometimes. No real ryhme or reason to his appearances.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Season 4 Episode 7
Wallflower

Olive is looking rough. She looks like I have felt for about 3 weeks.

So they want us to belive Lincoln hasn't slept in 3 months? I say 3 months but I have no idea how long Lincoln has been with the team but sorry, he hasn't slept in all of that time?

Beware the Albino!

Have they always had everyone's blood sample on record?

Run of the mill monster of the week. So Walter creates invisibility in a lab rat. That should get more excitement. At this point the military would step in and take Walter away for good.

Is this a horror film, they all just split up. Where did the dogs go? There they are, dumb arse dogs. Hey, I see we have a budget saving episode. Where is Peter? Oh, there he is. What am I not remembering or understanding? Why did Peter give Lincoln those glasses.

Ohhh....I was wondering when we would see Nina dosing Olive. Bitch!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Season 4 Episode 8
Back to Where You've Never Been
Poor Pete keeps having the old times dream.
Not sure why people would be willing to help Peter. The machine connects 2 worlds or so we have been led to believe. His quest to get back to his timeline / reality would essentially wipe their reality / timeline. Not sure why they would we willing to go along with that.
Other than someone thinking it would be a cool shot, why did the shifter run UP the bus instead of around it? From that vantage why would he have jumped into the path of that bus? He should have clearly seen the bus.
Yay Faulivia is back.
Oh great. Here we go again. Someone else (Peter) now uses his own technique to cross over. Wouldn't that cause more damage? Wouldn't that destroy whatever fix he made with the machine the first time?
If Walter still went to the other side to save Peter the 2nd, then what was the point of Peter erasing himself from the timeline? I know we discussed this before, but the whole machine plot is total crap. It makes no sense and you can't even force it to make any sense.
Plus, I thought the 2 worlds were working with each other after what Peter did. Peter just committed an act of war.
Oh come on. How would Peter's mom recognize her dead son all grown up?
Boom! I thought it was someone else with the shifters.
Boom II! The return of Robert David Jones.
About time The Observers showed back up. Aww poor September is hurt.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Season 4 Episode 9
Enemy of My Enemy

Not much to say about this one. If you let DRJ go, then what happens when you catch him again and he threatens to kill 200 people?

Oh look. Another group able to hop over to another universe. I can't remember, what does DRJ want? Is he just seeking to destroy the universe?

Whoa! Completely forgot Nina was working with DRJ.

Ok. Hopefully I'll be back to normal posts next week.

I'm sure it has to do with small changes to the timeline....yeah that's the ticket.

That's how he comes back? I don't remember that at all...and it doesn't make the most sense to me either.
There is absolutely no contrived way to make sense of Peter coming back. He removed himself. He should be gone forever. He died in both worlds thus he is dead.

quote:

Peter had to be "deleted," but the universes are deteriorating; he just said that. How does that make sense?

It doesn't make sense. He needed to never have been born. Which is what I thought when he said he needed to remove himself from the timeline. If never born, Walter never crosses over to save alternate Peter. All Peter did was stop the observer from saving him but that was stupid because we already know it would lead to the whole breakup of the universes.

I don't get the mistrust because I thought it was determined both timelines had to survive or none would.

You have to remember, he wasn't 100% certain and he said that device would probably kill a normal person so he figured it was time to test the theory to turn Peter.

I don't think he knew he removed himself from the timeline just popped back into reality in a lake. No memory of why he got there. Probably what happened is he disappeared at the end of season 3 and than jumped to this episode in a lake.

Season 4 Episode 10
Forced Perspective

Way #53 I don't want to go out. Impaled!

Still don't quite understand why anyone wants to help Peter since they barely know what the machine does so who the heck knows if it will erase their reality.

Shut up Broyles! 3 minutes after they get back from the site and Broyles wants a name. By the way, since they evidently have EVERY human's DNA on record then shouldn't they be able to get a trace DNA sample from the drawing and match it. Maybe Broyles should be pissed they don't have a name yet.

Once again, what the heck is Lincoln? Is on the team? Has his work on the shifter case ended. Did he get a promotion to Fringe Division without them telling us?

Nina and Massive Dynamic are always up to nefarious shite but Olive needs to back off. All they did was approach a chick exhibiting supernatural abilities. That isn't the same as testing risky drugs on young kids. No, it isn't abuse.

Losing interest. I'm never a big fan of recovering memories / entering the brain with the clarity of a star trek holodeck.

So the guy just lost custody of his kids and in 1 week he built that? Pretty industrious psycho.

Errr....Olivia...based on the massive bomb and the suicide vest, I'm pretty sure he is quite ready to die today.

Yawn. Still got tooth problems so I could be a bit crankier than normal.

Season 4 Episode 11
Making Angels

Kirk out!

Wow. Afro gets a featured episode with double duty.

Peter is stepping on Walter's toes. Walter is going to Faramir his arse if he doesn't watch out.

So why exactly are Alternid and Fauxlivia hanging out? Given the tenuous relationship, I don't see Broyles allowing everyone to hang out. This episode doesn't make much sense.

Alternid is better than Afro.

Really? They let a TSA douchenozzle stop them from chasing down the perp?

Time travel episode with flaws as usual. If he can see all times at once, he should have been able to see the attempt would fail, thus trying another time. Also, shouldn't he be able to see all possible escapes and captures thus shouldn't he be able to elude the feds fairly easily?

The observers sure aren't that observant if they are just now finding out that Pete is back.

Ha! I was expecting that to be Peter with the sex dream and it was Olive.

Walter is always eating. How does he not weigh 450?

Not sure I like the look of Rhubarb.

Uh oh! Looks like they are stuck in the Hotel California.

BOOM! Olivia is remembering the Peterverse.

Even if we go 100% along with the two universes merging in one spot, what does that have to do with them not being able to leave?

I don't buy any of the theories.

Pretty clear these guys are responsible for the problems.

overall I liked this episode, very good idea for girl to predict future with overprotective Dad and a huge bomb thing to stop.

I didn't like how the girl died at the end but I guess it makes sense why it had to happen. She did all of this stuff than suddenly just died.

yeah the TSA has authority over the FBI. That is the way it works in the rea wait no it doesn't.

could this be another peter loop hole? I mean sure he can see all times at once, but peter can't be seen by him thus creating something he can't see meaning he would be caught. Maybe he choose to be caught IDK.

Just an fyi for the thread, I am out of work today (fricked my back up last night and can barely walk), so I will update the OP in the morning.

Also, I am watching the last three eps today so I will add my thoughts for last week's episodes as well as the previous three as well. And catch up on the comments as well. I expect tomorrow to be a busy day for this thread. Glad to see we're finally back on track.

Afro lied to Alternid to make her feel better. Letting her know that we all have tough times with parental relationships made Alternid feel better and feel less alone and strange.

Aight, frick...finally catching up to this thread. OP is updated with new episodes for this week, and I'm about to wall-post my thoughts and comments for the last six episodes, and then respond to all fo ya'lls comments.

Also gonna try to throw some pics and gifs in there to mimic Myth's posts since they're so much more entertaining than just a wall of text.

Let's do this...

Wallflower

This building again looks like the same one from the future that Walter does his little dance thing in to find that portal.

This agent following Peter around looks like a young Obama.

Did Olivia just randomly come up with there being a dude stealing peoples' pigment?

This dude in the blacklight looks like that weird, freaky kid from The Grudge:

So Liv doesn't even mention to anyone that she not only saw this dude, but had a conversation with him? What the frick?

Hmm...I don't remember these dudes breaking into her place. And Nina?

Back to Where You've Never Been

Title reminds me of Luda:

"I may be the only man that can help you, but I'm also the only man who cannot."

Liv is gonna frick Peter over and do her own thing in the altverse....RIGHT AFTER she told Peter that Walternate wasn't trustworthy. Women be shoppin..

This Peter/Walternate meeting feels weird. Almost like they're in cahoots or something. I get it, but it just felt really odd for a minute. Cool scene though.

Is Walternate not bad anymore? Did the reset fix that too?

DAVID ROBERT MUTHAfrickING JONES!!

It's always hilarious when September fricks with people.

Enemy of My Enemy

DRJ is still a cold blooded badass.

Is AltBroyles a shapeshifter? Weird..

"I lost a partner." "I LOST A UNIVERSE!" Classic oneupmanship, Peter. Nicely done.

That nurse at the hospital sure as hell felt safe and secure from the deadly gas that is immediately killing everyone in seconds while she stood behind that thin, unsealed door with air cracks all around it. :tigermyth:

I really did miss DRJ as a villain. He's such an awesome one. And he's always so damn smooth.

So AltBroyles is in with DRJ? Has to be..

DRJ crossing over like it's NBD. Boss.

Walters and Elizabeth. "Save a boy's life." Talking about forgiveness, "I'm afraid," "So is he," etc. Such a fantastic scene.

I love how Peter always wnts guns now, when it took him almost two full seasons to use one on a raid.

I know there are some bad shots on this show, but that scene was ridiculous. You had people spraying automatic weapons at them from about 30 feet, and they barely hit anything. Guess not everybody can be Steven Seagal..

And that was badass when Liv stops and her vehicle is cut in half.

This was a really awesome episode.

And if Peter wanted to, he could bang all three Livs. Mad []D [] []v[] []D [] []\[].

More Nina shadiness. I guess this is where we start connecting that she and AltBroyles are banging..?

Forced Perspective

I'm not sure what I'd do if someone walked up to me and handed me a drawing that depicted my death.

Hey, dad...abusive much? Good Lord. You might as well just hit her in front of federal agents.

I love how the dad doesn't give a single frick about saving all of those people, even though his daughter wants to.

Okay, you have SWAT in the building and you're all surrounding this a-hole that you KNOW FOR A FACT is gonna blow some shite up, and everybody has their guns trained on him and fingers on the triggers. Yet he is able to unzip his jacket, reach in his pocket, and pull out a detonator without getting shot? What the frick are ya'll there for then? As soon as he moved his hand to his jacket, he should've been killed on the spot. Yet now we have to rely on Liv to unbelievably talk him down in 30 seconds like she can talk anybody into anything? Who does she think she is, Jack fricking Bauer?

Is Emily gonna kill herself? Or apparently it's just her time to die..

I liked the episode, but not much happened to advance anything.

Peter's explanation of Observers sounds just like Interstellar. And thinking forward to when September pulls Peter into that glass room with cosmos-like shite all around, I wonder if that explanation actually is exactly like Interstellar (I won't go into it as much as I'd like because I don't know who has seen it and who hasn't).

Hey, Oliva....STOP frickING HOLDING SECRETS!! Jesus tapdancing Christ...

...why would you not just tell Peter about September and what he said. Clearly she knows that he "knows" the "future" or whatever, and she even admitted that she thinks he is trying to help her. So why would she not say anything to the one person who obviously has dealt with these beings before? Stupid.

And WTF did Nina do to her when she broke in and gassed her? We still haven't gotten an answer to that yet. Hopefully soon.

I'm now too long...have to split this into two posts..

A.k.a. "Astrid's Very Own Episode." I remember liking this one the first go round.

Has this asian dude been on the show before? He seems familiar, but I don't know if it is Fringe or something else that I'm thinking of..

I love how the bus drives off when a man is very clearly dead on the bench. He must've had a field trip to get to.

Walter gets Altrid's name right and Astrid freaks.

Fauxliv is crushing Liv's groove a little bit. I love when those two are in the same room/place together. It's cool to see how different they are.

Walter jockeying for position with Peter is pretty funny.

Rain man Altrid is weird.

I wonder if this asian dude is gonna end up being a good guy.

This is the second episode in a row of someone being able to predict futures and acting on that. I wonder if there is any connection.. (I doubt it)

TSA fricking shite up per usual.

Is this the same "predicting future events from mathematical logics" dude as before? I don't think it is, but this exact same thing already happened on the show.

Ah. It wasn't math so much as it was this dude using September's device to tell what was gonna happen. At least I think anyways...none of that really made much sense to me.

Suicide by cop. Interesting way to go, Bieber...

How can some observers know shite but others can't? Especially when they are higher up? Like this one dude is having to explain to his ranking "officer" (at least that's what it seems like) about September and the device and all that, and the higher one is all like "Okay, thanks for telling me that." How does he not know? I thought, for lack of a better term, they were basically "all-knowing"..??

Welcome to Westfield

A.k.a. the "Matrix Subway Episode."

Yet another scene where they roll up onto the scene and destroy someone's property (when Walter kicks the hubcap).

Thinking back, do I remember Bell from this episode? Maybe not...I just remember him sitting in a diner at some point I think. No idea what episode that was from though..

I have to assume they made at least one turn, because Peter tells Liv they must've made a wrong turn and she is like "Yeah, I guess so." Surely she wouldn't have said that had they just been driving straight on that road and re-entered Westfield again.

Liv starting to remember things from Peter's universe? Weird. Awesome, but weird.

This dude was literally on the verge of death and needed a blood transfusion like two hours ago, and now he's got a gun and is ready to go to war? Come on, Fringe.

Walter on the school's PA system was hilarious. Hahaa.

Okay, o Liv's blood is okay and she's not infected (or whatever), so what was her slurred speech and dizziness all about then? They never revisited that at all.

The universe is literally collapsing all around everyone, and they are jogging slowly to the bike store.

Also, those were some pretty precise calculations with a marker and non-specific points drawn on a map. Meh.

Um, Peter...she likes you, dude. Just run with it, pimp.

Yeah, there are some things that make perfect sense and some things that make absolutely no sense at all. It's almost like they tried to get a little too cute with things.

I don't remember this.

It's in S5 when they have to get somewhere...don't remember the specifics, but they have to find the rip in the universe or something like that. And they have to go into that old (I think) abandoned building and find that one apartment and Walter has the steps memorized on how to step through the rip. It's almost like a dance. Per google, it's from S5E6, and they call it his "interdimensional universe dance":

Definitely agree with that. I think that's one reason I was so confused on my first go round watching as the show aired. Things got so confusing, and things that I thought I remembered happening were different (like Charlie dying and coming back, and same with AltBroyles). At least this time around we're watching them a lot faster, so it's a little easier to keep up with everything (though still confusing at times ).
