Please don't take this as criticism, and don't turn it into an argument thread.

I would just like some of yalls opinions on which one you would rather if you could pick just one.

Winning the regular season title is essentially an automatic top-8 seed. So I'd say that.

Regular season Champs means you were the best over 30 games... The tournament champ means you were the best over 3/4 games. Obvious answer is obvious.

And it means you're playing good ball at the right time. Maybe doesn't mean as much in the grand scheme as a regular season title, but it is very encouraging when entering regional play.

It also gives a big F U to the teams that may have beat you during the season. Swept by Fla? OK, have a shutout, Gators.

It also means you had the pitchers that will allow you to be successful in the post season. Obvious answer is not so obvious.

The tourney comes down to who gets hot and staying in the winner's bracket because no one is going to burn up pitching unless they are trying to play their way into NCAA tourney.

LSU is not going to throw Nola twice.

The good thing is that LSU appears to have worked out some offensive issues over this stretch of games which is what you want to see going into regionals.

Prestige wise- Overall SEC Championship, means you won the toughest conference & you are a lock for a top 8 seed.

Intangibles- Winning the SEC tourney means you are playing really good ball at the right time & you gain a lot of confidence going into the tournaments

The only time I would prefer a conference tournament title instead of a regular season title would be if the only way to get into the NCAA tourney was by winning the conference tourney.

well the regular season can be swung by who plays Missouri and who doesn't...

I believe the tourney champ gets an automatic bid to the post season while the regular season champ doesn't.

...not like the SEC regular season champ wouldn't get an at-large bid these days.

you'd have to be 0-26 in the nonconference and midweek for that to happen now...

Youngstown State with a 6-17 record in the Horizon conference will be playing in the NCAA tourney while Wright State, conference champions with a 25-4 record, is going nowhere. It could be argued you get more mileage out of a tourney championship but I still prefer a regular season title.

Both are difficult in their own way, but I believe a regular season championship is harder to attain
