Just backed into the New Neighbors Vechicle
Posted by FLObserver on 5/28/14 at 6:13 am00
House across the street has been empty over 4 years (foreclosure). We've been in our house now for about 2 1/2 years. New neighbors moved in like a week ago their driveway is about 80 yards down the street. Their is a busy street that seperates us. I have to back out of my driveway to leave for work. I do my normal look right to left to see if any traffic is coming. I throw my car in reverse like i have done for 2 1/2 years but this time i hear CRUNCH!! The new neighbor moved their car right behind my fricking driveway Yeah i should have looked in the rear view mirror but shite its woods theres no house directly behind my driveway. Now i will have to fork over 500 for the deductable Crappy start to my day my wife asked did anyone see? . I have not a scratch on my SUV? I thought about it

Our hoa doesn't allow overnight parking in the street for that very reason. I hate my neighbors. For some reason their company ALWAYS parks in the street as opposed to their empty driveway.

Our HOA actually encourages it because they dont want people parking on their lawns

That sucks. I did the same thing to my wife's car. For some reason she decided to park behind me instead of next to me the night before. Did my usual back up and ran right into it.

Same thing happened to me a while back, kindof...
The wife had to have a backup camera and sensor in her new ride. Had to have them I tell ya. One morning she left for work before I did and backed directly into my truck in the driveway. She had to go out of her way to hit it also. A few months later, she backed into a pipe bollard at a Waffle House at 2 AM carting my drunk arse home one night. It wasn't long after that she backed her dad's truck into a tree when we visited him for a weekend.
I have learned to not park behind here after that.

So the car was parked in front of a vacant lot, not in front of their own lot/house? It may be a dick move but I'd check the law. Just sayin'

OT poor for $500 deductible. Who has a $500 deductible?
Jesus, get an Independent Insurance Agent to review your policies.

You got absolutely nothing here. One cannot damage someone else's property without repercussions regardless if it is "legally" parked or not.
On a scale of 0-10 of good legal advice, this^ is a zero.

No we have extended yards he just decided to park 80 yards away from his driveway i guess right behind my driveway looked like the perfect spot Its my fault i accept that but still a little pissed he parked behind me though.
