Looking for a Le Foret/August type experience - any reason to go somewhere other than R'evolution?

Meh, I heard it was just syphilis. But that's probably just a product of walking around Bourbon Street. Just wear some booties, OP, and you'll be fine.

Love both of them, but kinda want to try something new. Is R'evolution not on par with them?

Just ask them to seat you at a table with a tablecloth and you should be ok.

Or go to Stella!

Le Foret for a brief shining moment was fantastic but that was about 4 or 5 years ago.

It's expensive. Probably the only reason I would find not to return.

I've never eaten at August, but I'd assume I'd like that style of cooking better than R`evolution. Just more inventive, with a bit more intriguing ingredients (to me).

I'm really craving the tartare at R-'evolution.

I can't talk you out of it because I want to go again for dinner, this time. Our brunch was wonderful. If you didn't see my pics and review, check the dining guide. I referenced the thread there, I believe.

I went to Le Foret when the first chef was there and it was wonderful. I haven't been since.

Nope. It's a place you need to try. Some dislike like it, some love it.. it's worth going for dinner and forming your own opinion.

Same here. Expensive, yes, but their portion sizes are really solid and some of their dishes are just outstanding. Great wine list too.

You should try R'evolution at least once. Then try Stella if you liked August and R'evolution.

No, you don't need one. There was a wide mix of dress when we were there. Folse was eating at a table with friends in a shirt and slacks. Guys with me wore jackets, but I also saw jeans. I think those folks were walk-ins though. Saw plenty of button downs and slacks.
