I've never seen so many bad unscientific studies produced by hysterical biased people in my life.

So if there isn't anything to worry about why not label it? Sorry if I like to know what I'm putting in my body and sorry if I'm hesitant to believe anything that comes out of the HFCS american food industry. All they produce is processed crap that is terrible for your health

It goes both ways bub. The right will eat up science when it benefits their beliefs but then will call all scientist money grabbing liars when it doesn't

Good for you. I'd love to see your farm where you produce each and everything you eat so you don't have to depend on that evil American food industry.
I am supposing here that you eat nothing that has been in any way altered from its original genetic code.

There was an Economist article on GMO's not too long ago. It focused the reckless fear-mongering and Vermont's efforts to require labeling for all foods containing GMO's.

It included a hilarious chart that just said:

Worldwide deaths per year due to malnutrition - 330,000

Worldwide deaths per year due to GMO's - 0

I thought one of the FDA criteria was that they were technically indistinguishable for the most part.

So these GMOs and non GMO products are basically observably the same.

I could be wrong though.

i believe the burden of consumer choice should be on the consumer. if companies want to promote the fact that their product(s) doesn't contain HFCS, they should advertise it. there are all sorts of public and private organic certifications that all sorts of companies put on products

Cute. They should have included the stat for deaths due to obesity from eating processed crap.

Yeah, because all that genetically modified rice is now causing people in third-world countries to die from obesity-related causes.

Is that really the cause of obesity or in the vast majority of cases is it due to some form of behavior?

Everyone has an agenda nowadays so you cant blame people to be skeptical (on both sides).

The people that bother me are the ones that call the other side "stupid".

Zambia rejects GMO food

this fearmongering definitely led to the deaths of some innocent Zambians

same in Angola

...and Zimbabwe

Sure it has to do with over indulging on the crap but how many people die from eating too many fruits and vegetables?

It definitely correlates to the what type of food you're putting in your body

This is just so stupid. You should just quit TD and subscribe to Jenny McCarthy's newsletter.

Wait, are you trying to say obesity is not tied to processed food and the garbage that goes into producing them?

What do you think fatasses get fat from?

No. I am, however, saying you are a fricking moron if you think that has anything to do GMOs.

And the main reason they reject the GMO food is because the EU will not buy the food from them. So they lose that very important part of their export revenue if they do.

Sad, really.

MJM, you have no idea what GMO really is. HFCS has nothing to do with GMOs. Not a damn thing.

Drought-resistant crops, high-yield crops, etc. are not "processed" foods.

And the first to ever "genetically modify" crops were the Sumerians.

Well now that is a very valid point. Prior to GMO's and processed foods there were no fat asses. Ever.
