LSD is the only thing that stops them for good, and that is the truth, but since its illegal these people need to suffer. Its fricked up!

Once, I thought I was about to die

Mushrooms are also said to work but from what I have heard LSD(acid) is what really works.

hard to watch. watched a documentary on them and it looks like an awful thing to have.
theres a doctor at LSU that does a lot of studying on the headaches. he is one of the leading supporters of patients using psilocybin to treat them

Saw that two days ago. I've honestly been scared shitless since.

I actually got one hell of a migraine years ago and I thought I was about to go into a coma or something like that and I still busted out laughing at this vid.

frick. That. I think I got a headache just from watching that video. On the bright side, chronic cluster headaches are pretty rare.

I would say its an endorphin thing, but most of the hits are taps.
Not sure what that is about.
ETA: Take that back...it may be an endorphin thing. She rails on it with a closed fist.

FWIW, from what I know of this the term of "headache" is a misnomer because it puts it in the category of lesser pains.
It is apparently orders of magnitude worse than even a migraine.....one of the most painful things you can ever experience.
Its common name is suicide headaches because the first modern doctor who dealt with them felt it needed to put his patients under suicide observation.

Well I've had a few bad migraines before, and if this is as bad as it appears, I'd certainly think about putting a bullet in my head.

that's scary and very hard to watch

I believe there are a few posters that get them including myself. shite sucks. At work so can't watch the link.
ETA: The hitting of the head actually helps. I don't know how hard she is doing it but I will tap my head with my palm. Takes the pain away for a sec.

Who is this?
I have cluster headaches almost daily, has been going on about 7 years. Oxygen and sumatriptan injections make it possible to live life.

I went through about 8 years of these. Probably got one a year, then they stopped occurring. Horrible, debilitating pain.

Saw a documentary about this a while back. A guy in TX was taking shrooms every 3 weeks or so to prevent them. He said he hasn't had hardly any headaches since. It's sad that someone is able to tell another person that they can't take an "illegal" substance even though it helps them live a normal life.

I've been dealing with one for the past several days. Saturday was fairly brutal. I ended up taking 1000 mg of tylenol, 5 mgs of diazepam, and 100 mg of tramadol just to be able to function.
I haven't had a cluster in about year. Mine usually last from 2 days to 2 weeks. Today it's just kind of a nagging headache. But when they are at their worst, I really want to crawl in a hole and die.

Agreed. My sister will usually "massage" my scalp and she will find certain pressure points and it's almost like putting my head in a vice would actually make it feel better. Then that fricking pain moves and you find a different pressure point.

With the amount of shrooms and L I've ingested in my life, I'm probably vaccinated.

There is no going to bed with a cluster headache.
