How does espn not make them lump that in with their other channels.

Someone hates freedom.....

ESPN charges a certain amount per subscriber for each of those channels.

And ESPN/ESPN2 is one of the highest for any channel.

It's up to the cable company to decide how they break it up.

Is it in HD on any cable provider? I have UVerse, and it's not.

DirectTV is bad about this kind of thing.

Back in the fall we cut our DTV package down to a basic one plus HBO.

AMC is not on their lower package which is nuts.

AMC is basic cable and always has been. They just bumped it up to a higher one because of BB, Walking Dead and Mad Men.

I can't wait till providers go down.

Uverse is the same way. The "basic" package they advertise is just local TV and public access. You have to go up a couple packages to get anything you want to watch.

I recently moved and was forced to get Comcast. Was pleasantly surprised that the basic includes ESPN 1&2 plus Fox sports and NBCSN.

It is ridiculous and as soon as someone figures out a way to broadcast the games in HD over the internet, the providers will die an agonizing death. Hopefully....

I don't know what the point of having it in HD would be when most of the events on there are from before HD times. I don't find myself ever watching the channel, maybe once in a while for old college football games.
