22ft sea hunt. Looking for best places to head for day fishing trips that aren't terribly long drives. Grown up going out of golden meadow and fouchon. Looking for some new spots perhaps. thanks

I've never fished it, but if I were leaving from BR, I'd be hitting up the lake and the Slidell area. Probably an hour to an hour and a half. Everywhere else I know is farther than that.

Lake P and fish the Causeway right now. You can run Manchac to the Rigolets with ease in that boat.

Launch at Rigolets.....can fish Lake Borgne and Biloxi marsh. Lake P can be good but very hint and miss.

Manchac to the Rigolets by boat would a pretty long run. Its much easier and quicker to drive to Slidell and launch at one the marina's there. Also lake pontchartrain is one of the toughest places to fish in the state.

Go sunshine bridge down through 308 and then straight shot 311 to dularge rd. I've done it many times.

Stay away from the Sunshine Bridge right now...especially if towing a boat.

There's construction on the bridge and it's down to one lane on each side. Not only that, the one lane is very narrow. Went through last weekend with an 18' bay boat on trailer and just barely made it through (about 2 inches on either side of the trailer tires).

The Veterans Memorial Bridge is becoming my favorite run down there right now. I'm making the trip down to Dulac in just about 2 hours or under.

This, I'm down in dularge just about everyweekend and this is by far best route. GPS will tell you to go through gramercy but you hit a million lights coming through thibodaux and Houma.

Can easily make trip in 1:45 with no problems, only wildcard now is sunshine bridge, just avoid from 3-5 on weekdays when CF lets off and you should be alright.
