Phish is coming to the Deep South at the end of the summer. Which show will be the best? Thought about driving down and doing the OB show and spending the weekend on the coast, but staying here in Bham is a lot cheaper.

Fri Aug 1 - The Wharf - Orange Beach, AL
Sat Aug 2- Oak Mtn - Pelham, AL
Sun Aug 3 - Verizon Amp. - Alpharetta, GA

Never an easy call. It will be the band's first appearance at Orange Beach. The last two shows at Oak Mtn, 1999 and 2012, were both good (especially the former). Alpharetta has seen high (7.4.10) and low (6.15.11) points, and in between (2013). I am glad that the run closes out tour as the band is typically on point by then. I'll be at all three.

Oak Mtn is nice. I was pleasantly surprised in 2012. Alpharetta is the best amphitheater this side of the Mississippi River (Bethel right behind it IMO). I have seen shows from the pit, pav, and lawn there and no seat is bad.

I haven't been to Orange Beach before, but am not sure how it can be any hotter than the others.

Orange Beach lot is connected to a little mall. It won't be that hot when you can go to a bar or restaurant nearby.

I'm really excited about OBA

Have you never spent a night on the coast? Every show I have been to at The Wharf, you can always catch a good breeze, especially in the 300's, which I prefer. Section 303 and 309 are the best IMHO.

Hoping I will have a kewe of friends doing the three night run stay with me for the Oak Mtn show.

At least OB and Oak Mtn. Funds are short and not sure I'm really gonna feel like doing the whole run, with all the driving and no days in the middle to rest up.

I actually haven't bought tickets for any of them yet, but that's pretty standard operating procedure for me. I like the lawn.

I've got my ticket for oak mountain in the the third tier. I'll be able to see the light show better from back there.

I have tickets that I could buy for the other 2 shows, and I really want to but it depends on if I can get off work. My manager already has off work that week to go to all 3 shows though so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get off.

Happy Harbor for Bushwhackers. Then heading to the lot, downing a couple chocolates and riding the Ferris wheel until the show starts. Walk in halfway through Possum
