What was the "check the bat call"????

What was that all about. Announcers didn't explain that call on Bregman. Did someone think Bregs was using an illegal bat?

That was his second time checking on LSU. During a visit to the mound the coach and players left, ump walked out and asked to see the baseball. He checked it and have it back.

My kids bat got questioned in a jv game. Nobody calle d the other coach a douche for doing it....
