Hasn't Obama made more "surprise visits" to soldiers overseas than any other President? He continually has to try an convince the public he cares about the troops.
Remember when Obama wanted the troops to pay for their own health insurance?

I guess that's one way to look at it.

It's no doubt, a photo op. I guess I can see why he doesn't want to show up at some VA hospitals though. Active troops will be ordered to look supportive.

This is Obama's 4th trip to Afghanistan. He made one to Iraq in April of 2009. The last troops departed on December 28, 2011.
Bush 43 made 4 visits to Iraq and 2 to Afghanistan.
e/t/a LBJ visited the troops in South Vietnam twice and Nixon once

No need to be upset over stating the obvious. But Bush, right?

Wasn't this the presidential candidate that was going to end all wars as soon as elected?

But now that YOU brought him up(Bushsessed), he did have some doozies, didn't he?
Mission Accomplished!

Don't really care why he went. If the troops got anything positive from it then I'm glad he went. He gave a good speech.

We have the obscene, and really borderline luxury to criticize the motives for a C-in-C to visit his troops. I don't care what President decides to go overseas to visit the troops. When they do it, it's always a good thing, especially for those on the lines.

AQ is on the run.
(said about 40 times during his re-election, nm Benghazi)

Trying to get the Benghazi - YouTube story pushed to the back.
As has been pointed out, there's nothing this "man" does that does not have a political motivation, first and foremost.
