Do You Consider Nightmare Before Christmas a Halloween or Xmas Movie?

I've always considered it a Christmas movie. It's not called Nightmare Before Halloween after all. Watching a movie with Christmas trees and lights in October would feel just as out of place to me as watching Halloween movies in the summer. What month was it released in btw? I wonder if it received an uptick in tickets sold as Christmas approached. If you are wondering why I am asking this in the summer, I've been watching old Siskel and Ebert reviews and this was one of the films covered.

It's a Christmas movie but it feels like a Halloween movie. "This is Halloween" is up there with "The Monster Mash" for GOAT Halloween song. It was released October 29, 1993 btw

That's interesting. I guess the studio considered it a Xmas movie too. Usually, holiday films come out a month before that holiday because people don't want to see a holiday movie 2 weeks after Christmas for example.

It's definitely an Xmas movie.. The cross between Halloween is awesome though.. How many films have a strong multi seasonal theme like that?

It isn't really an X, it is the Greek letter Chi. This has been used as a Christian symbol for quite sometime.

Jack is the main character and the movie is set in halloweentown. Everything/everyone in the town is Halloween themed. The movie came out a few days before Halloween.

GTFO with this Christmas shite.

bullshite!!!

Insert Easter bunny, tooth fairy, etc. Santa was replaceable by any other holiday mascot!!!! But jack and the Halloween theme? Nope, couldn't have the Halloween movie without that!!
