Do the run of the mill public schools in BR/NOLA offer classes like Chemisty/Physics/Calculus/Latin, etc?

Coming from a large HS where the not so intellectually inclined took business math to satisfy their math credits for graduation, and actually had good shop classes (welding, auto repair) that prepares these kids for a job, and had all of these classes mentioned above for the college bound, I always wondered these things.

If a high school doesn't offer those classes that would be very sad.

Chemistry yes, Latin generally no, Calc and Physics vary from school to school. I believe physics is more common than calculus.

If they aren't teaching that in HS their system is seriously fricked.

Send them to a good education at a catholic high school

I went to dutchtown

Had chem 1, chem 2 (2101 & 2102 @lsu) physics (a complete joke), calc 1 and calc 2 (1550 and 1552 at LSU) and a few college level history classes.

Easily tested out of chemistry 2101, math 1550, physics 1100, and passed an AP test for a history credit at LSU. I was more than prepared for college.

South Lafourche had all classes listed in the op. Took them all in honors. I did also take woodworking. Made a bench, seafood paddle, etc. Even took German for 2 years

Most probably won't have Latin and some may not have calc, but they'll have physics and chemistry for sure.
