#1 - Do these women get partial scholarships like the men do or, because of Title IX, do they get full rides

#2 - Why don't the coaches wear uniforms like baseball coaches/managers do?

here is my opinion as I am an arm chair pitcher

Most are probably on full rides. 85 FB scholarships are all full ride and you got to divide that into a lot of womens sports to get the totals. a lot of other mens sports like basketball etc have an equal number of scholarships on the womens side. Off the cuff you got soccer, volleyball that we don't have a men sports too along with gymnastics.

I have always wondered why baseball coaches must wear a uniform. My guess when it first started BB coaches also played a position. It would not hurt me to see them dressed in casual clothes like they do in softball.

Full rides. The last girl on the bench is on full scholarship.

NCAA D1 Softball gets 12 scholarships. So, this is wrong. It is much like baseball.

Correct. Player-coaches were common back in the day. Now, it's just a tradition.

Also, during the first years of college football (late 1800s) there was no Head Coach. Decisions were made by the 'captain' of the team who was a player.

Also, when head coaches were first introduced the captain on the field still had decision making power over substitutions. IE, coach sends Johnny in for Bill. Captain tells Johnny to go back to the bench, he wants Bill to stay in.

At my university, I would pick out which players I found to be the hottest, and I'd give them a full ride.

According to this, for the 2013-14 season, baseball gets 11.7 scholarships and softball gets 12.

Most baseball coaches get away with wearing half of a uniform these days. They'll wear baseball pants with sneakers and a wind breaker.

it has some merits. there are a lot of women continuing their education by playing sports that would otherwise have a more difficult time doing it. For Bama;s sake and a lot of SEC schools they are still making money.

Baseball managers/coaches are allowed on the field of play, so they wear a uniform.

Actually Title IX is a good thing. IT is the judges in California that expanded it's reach to make it a bad thing. It isnt about athletics but its been turned into athletics.

that's technically not really at all how title ix works.

football coaches are allowed on the field as well. BB coaches go out on a time out, unless you are referring to the base coaches. I guess they are on the field but they are in foul territory only. Same applies for SB but they do not have to wear a uni.

Title IX is bullshite. There are men's college sports that have been eliminated to achieve compliance. Especially swimming and wrestling.

There are girls on golf scholarships here at Centenary in Shreveport who can't break 100 to save their lives.

Title IX assumes that men and women are equally interested in participating in collegiate sport. It's not true.
