Most money you've negotiated off a new vehicle

I've never bought a new car before so I have no negotiating experience. What's a reasonable amount of money to get knocked off? What's the best you've done?

I have never paid above sticker.

Depends on local/area (within 60 miles, usually) competition of that same dealer. Depends on how much the vehicle sells for. Depends on factory incentives. Depends on how long it's been sitting on the lot, and how likely they are to selling it soon. Depends on invoice price. There are easy 411's if you google about the "buying a new car process." Also depends on your patience to have to buy one. If you can let them cook for a solid month while they keep trying to sweeten it, you will catch them trying to meet monthly quotas.
The internet was a "new" car salesman's worst enemy. Now used cars, they can sit on the lot and rot until they get what they want for it.

I went from about 33k to 24k on a 1999 Chevy Z71 that I bought new back then. I paid cash up front though and since then I have had trade in's and they are a bit tougher to deal with.

Yup. Jeeps sell themselves so they are not willing to negotiate much pricewise. I got lil over 4K off sticker price on mine. And considered that a decent deal.
I went Labor Day Weekend and it was end of the month and the dealership was dead that day so that may have helped in my favor a lil as well.

I have a dealership right now trying to give about $3k. I keep telling him no and ignoring his emails.
Truth is I'm going to get one size up, and I want $5k. Trying to get close to that before I tell them I want a more expensive car, then going to negotiate more.
