Man falls 70 feet into a crevasse

and climbs his way out after breaking some ribs, an arm, and dislocating both shoulders.

This "smart" professor wasn't alone on his trip but was alone at the time. Stupid mistake on his part. If he was unconscious he's a dead man. That's why you don't go alone in a crevasse field. He should have been on a rope team.
