Friday is the last day of qualies. And then let the games begin. How excited are you? I'm so excited I wanna dance on a tennis court.

Substantive analysis forthcoming.

Can we get a sticky on this one, mods?

That's the consensus thought, with Nadal struggling on clay lately.

Still think Nadal wins it though, he'll turn it on to another level at Roland Garros.

I think Djoker finally gets it this year.

And the consensus among who? Nadal is still the odds-on favorite according to Vegas:

Nadal+149
Djoker+163

For once I think it's about as open as it's been in years. I'd probably take Djoker if you made me right now, but there could be some serious surprises for the first time in a while.

Nadal's draw is very favorable for another run at the tile.

Djoker, on the other hand, would be my favorite, but he's got a very difficult draw to work through.

thanks. Djoker's draw isn't bad. Nadal will have to go through Jack Sock, though

Friday night of Memorial Day weekend last year I was on a bird to Paris to see RG.

Raonic/Kyrgios is a tasty first rounder. I think Raonic is all serve and forehand, but he played well in one of those clay Masters events.

Rafa's second round match will likely be against Dominic Thiem and it won't be a cakewalk.

I mean, Rafa will win, but Thiem is a baller. Always gotta keep an eye on out young players bursting on the scene.

Sinclar's mint condition Agassi outfit is amazing. Nike never reissued that stuff at the time, so somebody had that laying around and never wore it much.

Eh, it was great tennis.

I'm pissed about the Aussie Open final this year.

Okay, I'm going to make a list of the players who I think have at least a reasonable chance of winning the tournament. Anybody else who wants to play along, feel free to do so.

In descending order of likelihood.

Novak Djokovic
Rafael Nadal
Kei Nishikori
Stan Wawrinka
Roger Federer
Grigor Dimitrov
Ernest Gulbis
Marin Cilic
Tsonga
Alex Dolgopolov

I don't think Murray or Berdych or Ferrer have any reasonable chance of winning. Murray blows on clay. I think the ship has sailed on Berdych ever winning a grand slam. And I don't think Ferrer was ever good enough to win a major. He's Michael Chang with a bit less talent.
