I think as long as he's protected his dropoffs wont be too drastic. He'll probably be able to still perform at a solid productive level.
He said he hopes to do so.

If he is still very productive, yes. Without question.

I think he still has a good 4-5 years left in him.

My hope is that he knows when it is time to step down, take a major pay cut, grab a clipboard and be a backup/coach for a few years.

Drew Brees will never be a coach.

He will either be in politics or on television.

It all depends on that arm. If he can still chuck it 40yds on the dime, then si. It's highly doubtful that will happen though

I'm fine with it. But at some point we as saints fans have to be ready to move into the post-brees era. It's scary, very scary, but I think we'll be okay. We'll move right in to the Jordan Jefferson era without a hitch.

Okay that last part was a sick joke.

He's a fitness freak- so health shouldnt be an issue.

As long as he doesnt have any injuries and the Saints can protect him with a solid o-line, I could definitely see him making it to 40.

No you're not. Because I think the same thing. I don't like thinking this way, though.

Yeah, but your not supposed discuss reality when it comes to Brees, people tend to get bent out of shape

I've usually seen this from people who called him greedy during his contract talks or those saying his salary will never allow another title.

And age in of itself is not a factor. The quality of his play is. Also making predictions doesn't make you a super fan or a hater. They are all equally farts in the wind.

I'm fine with Drew playing until he can't any longer, but only as long as the Saints bring in a young guy for Brees to start grooming. You should never neglect the future.
