I'm watching the Frontline documentary on the NSA Surveillance - "United States of Secrets."

Where is the outrage? Why are the people so apathetic to this gross violation of our rights?

Is nobody held accountable anymore in this country?

Will the programs ever be fully stopped, or will anybody like Clapper or Hayden ever be held accountable for lying and violating our rights?

People with food in their stomachs don't riot or get outraged; especially if they have electronic entertainment/distractions. The most outrage you'll possibly get out of this is some hashtag activism or angry message board posts.

It just baffles me. They just discussed the secret room, the splitter, and the copying of data at AT&T. The NSA General Council just flat out said that it is "legal." How the hell is it legal? Why won't the courts do anything about this?

Is the news telling people to be outraged? No.

There you have it.

Yeah, I know. It is unfortunate. This is the issue that should be crammed down our throats, not the story about the latest bigoted comments from NBA owners.

And of course the US has the highest incarceration rates in the world too but the media doesn't seem to want to address that either. Apathetic population and media which is largely corporate owned creates these types of situations. Sad state of affairs we have in Merica.

No offense but what exactly can we do? the system is flawed from the core. The government is litterally intercepting hardware putting shite on it repackaging and sending it to you. How the frick is that constitutional on any scale?

They actually did tell people about it before snowden and no one cared. They told it again and people cared for about 1 month. Not everything is media driven, sometimes the populace just doesn't give enough of a shite or are really irrationally scared to the point of surrendering rights. They're as pathetic as the likes of you that see conspiracy in everything.

I see the opposite. I see young voters who are apathetic about all civil rights except "marriage equality" and "income equality." Ignorance is Strength.

I thought Hayden's comments at the end of Part 2 were poignant.

Really, really well-done documentary.

Great to have access to the insiders, and none of this would be possible if not for Edward snowden.

And yes, NSA, I do support Mr Snowden

Yeah, he certainly came off as more thoughtful than he was initially portrayed when all of this came to light.

I also thought it was an excellent, fair documentary that gave both sides a fair shake.
