i want fresh opinions. In that theory, why would anyone ask an opinion on a movie here. It's always most likely had a thread about it. Damn aggie/greenie

It's not life changing or anything but it's solid enough.

how are "fresh" opinions going to be any better than the opinions of people who saw it when it was in theaters?

I lasted through ten minutes of Clooney being Clooney and turned it off. I own some of his films like Syriana and Clayton, but sometimes (like Gravity) his shtick burns me out fast.

Exactly. Why come here and ask for opinions that may taint your experience. Just watch the fricker.

Forget why he asked the opinion why is the specific format he rented important?

I assume a large % of Americans have Blu Ray by now and even if it was DVD or On Demand, would that really change the response?

I was disappointed in it. It wasn't terrible, the story was fine but nothing spectacular. I had some hopes that it would be a pretty good movie with the cast being as deep as it was but there was a reason it released to video as quick as it did.

There are worse movies and it's not a complete waste of time but it simply is not a well made movie at all. First of all is the problem of caring about the possible destruction of paintings and sculptures in a war that killed millions and had ongoing genocide. Clooney's pretentious posturing on this is pretty terrible. And the character development is just not there and the story doesn't flow and at times really doesn't make much sense. It takes more than just an all star cast to make a good movie and after Clooney finished with the casting and bought a story he liked I'm not sure he really had a clue what he was trying to do.

I thought it started slow and had strange tries at humor in parts. Some WTF scenes like when bill murray sits down with the german dude for light, guess its a take a All Quiet on the western Front cue. I did believe it got much better after the christmas song by the wife with bill in the shower and finished strong.
