Playing in a tournament there this weekend. Has anyone ever been? Does it live up to the hype? Is it as nice as it looks from the outside?

I've never been in but it sure does look nice from the outside. I thought it wasn't scheduled to open until May 31st?

I haven't been, but I have heard some interesting things. One is that they don't sell sunflower seeds or allow people to bring them in. If you're caught with them they'll throw you out. Also, you can't sit in fold out chairs because the side and outfield walls are tall and thick, so you are forced to sit in the bleachers.

Take that FWIW

That's horrible if true. Baseball and sunflower seeds are a match made for each other.

Well that sucks if true. Hopefully somebody can come in and confirm it.

And I think they had a tournament there last weekend and they certainly do this weekend. I think next weekend is just their grand opening event.

No seeds or peanuts allowed due to having turf as opposed to natural grass. The same rules applied in Sulphur for the softball and baseball championships, but lots of people were eating seeds and peanuts in spite of the rules. I saw no one thrown out of the park, but did see a few people asked to stop eating seeds.

Very common for parks that have turf infields. No gum either.

Sulphur
Carrollton at the Fly
Chalmette

All those complex's no seeds and no gum.
