What franchise has worn out its single World/National title success

What sporting franchises or college programs have won one world or national title and have been riding that success for far to long?
My sports knowledge is limited to football and from only being 31 years old.
New York Jets and Chicago Bears come to mind.

Michigan. They have a great history, and won a few titles before 1940. But I think they only have a one-half national title (split with Nebraska) in the last 60 or 70 years.

From all the talk I hear about the Bears in the 80s I would have sworn they won more than one.

The fricking Cowboys for sure.
Although theirs were a little more on the recent side.
Oh also I didn't notice the title said "single"

And the undefeated dolphins team. So tired of that one.

I don't think this means what you think it means.

braves i'm sure will get some mentions.
in football, teams that come to mind that have won one NC (to my knowledge) but will likely never do so again -- BYU and Colorado... Washington is another that may never get back there.

I'm certainly biased, but Georgia football. Easily.

They also got the AP in 1948.
Over half of their claims are retroactive.

For Georgia to be so well respected as a 'football power' sometimes I just get confused because I can't remember what justifies them being respected as a power so much.

I just think it's funny that they (along with my Buccaneers, who have a similarly shitty history) have a SB while Atl doesn't.
