If you're going to spend $75-80k on an SUV

Why buy a Yuxon Denali XL? Why not buy a Mercedes GL or an Audi Q7? Hell even a Porsche Cayenne S (except that doesn't have a 3rd row). But why do people sacrifice luxury and driveability for a large box? Does adult mean you can't have fun and love what you drive?

More room than those others

I wouldn't spend 80k on a Denali, but your comparisons aren't apples to apples.
It's like asking why you'd spend 40k on a GC Overland instead of a Q5.

Wait a year and buy it used for 10-15k cheaper.

Cheaper maintenance? Not looking for flashiness? Bigger and roomy-ier than the other sports SUVs listed? Leather seats is enough?

Because I'm trying to convince my wife that it's a sheeple idea to get a Yukon. Just because it's the office car of St. James doesn't mean she needs to get one.

People don't want to spend an arm and a leg on maintenance and repair costs. These same people also probably want a car that will be more reliable from the get go.
The GL has some of the worst reliability I've ever seen.

Of those mentioned, the Yukon will hold the best value and be the most dependable. If you really need 3rd row, that's the one to get. Second would be the Porsche. I wouldn't consider the MB or the Audi.

fair enough. but if it is your wife's car, why don't you let her get whatever she wants.

People that spend $75-$80 on a vehicle are complete idiots.

Don't have so many damn kids and a Land Cruiser would be just fine.
