Maybe it's your cup of tea, maybe it isn't.

What is does say is that Nintendo might be working on more exciting eShop titles. Day one buy for me easily.

But HOPEFULLY more interesting titles to come.

UPDATE: And now the Minnish Cap

The eShop has such major untapped potential, that's REALLY why I'm posting this.

Think about other major third party titles on the N64 or SNES.

There's some serious licensing issues with that one. We'll never see it released.

Yes and No, but neither will budge.

Nintendo funded its development but Rare won't allow them to release it as a download unless they release it to all platforms. Messed up. Both have a point though. Rare wants to maximize profits, Nintendo wants to retain exclusivity on a classic that they know will generate revenue.

Honestly, it's without question the biggest tragedy in the history of gaming. No two studios had a better relationship in history and they released incredible game after incredible game. Microsoft had no real plans for Rare aside from crippling Nintendo.

Really what have they done with Rare? Released a piñata game and the most disappointing 3rd game in the history of a franchise, next to Mass Effect 3 of course. Microsoft just laid off a ton of Rare employees, and they've done nothing to try and help them. Sure, Retro Studios has helped with some of the slack, but they're not putting even close to the amount of output that Rare did for Nintendo.

Interesting factoid I came across about Street Fighter Alpha 2 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

SFA2 was certainly a swan song for the SNES, it was one of the larger cartridges ever on the console, 32Mbits (Super Metroid was 24 Mbits in comparison), and was only one of two games that had a S-DD1 chip inside to handle all of the large sprite data in the game. It came out a few months after the N64's launch and by then people were playing their 2-D fighters on PSX or (in Japan) the Sega Saturn.
