at the right time. I was always impressed with how every year his team would peak just in time for post season.

This team has peaked at literally the exact same moment that many "insiders" on this board were declaring that the team had internal turmoil.

Skip never wanted his team peaking at the SEC tournament. He only wanted to play 3 games, so that all three starters got their work in, everything after that was meaningless to Skip. He wanted his teams fresh for a regional and CWS run. Skip found that in his first few trips to Omaha, his teams spent a lot of energy getting through the regionals are were overely excited just to make it to Omaha. After 1990, the Omaha trips became much more business like, as the teams weren't satisfied yet.

I will admit that I don't like seeing us "dogpile" in Hoover. Save it for the Super Regionals and CWS.

The difference with Skip is that coming into this we would almost always have a host and a top 8 seed locked up so it didn't matter what we did in this tourney.

This year we need to do well in the SECt also in this era of college baseball winning this thing can heat up a team. LSU baseball was so good back than we would have no issues getting through our regional.

funny how they come out of the woodwork when the team either loses a few games or wins a big game.

This.

And in the game thread today we learned before the game started that Mainieri is stupid when it comes to who to start, we learned he doesn't know his players' abilities, he should have started Nola and who & when to substitute during the game.

Plus, he's stupid for wearing a windbreaker in Hoover during a game.

Did I miss anything?

Just posted this in another thread. Fits here too...

quote:

I am ready to flush this abortion of the season. I have no confidence in this team whatsoever. We'll probably win our regional simply because we have the best pitcher in collegiate baseball. But I just don't give us much shot in the supers. Poche on the road is only decent, and "only decent" is not enough to overcome our shitty bats.

I'll watch every game, but I have absolutely no expectations for this team at this point.

quote:

But there is evidently somewhat of a problem going on in the dugout, that has only escalated more after the comments and actions today. Which is terrible timing as we have our two most important weeks ahead of us.

quote:

Just calling it like I see it. So you think all is well with the team and the coaches?

quote:

My opinion and only my opinion here. Bregman doesn't make an effort to be "part of the team." He's aloof and it's off putting to the rest of the team. Then he had the season's he's had. The rest of the team grew more resentful as the season wore on. If he had lit it up like he did last year he would have had a leg to stand on, but now's he's like that guy who get's promoted in the office for being the boss' pet and it rubs everyone the wrong way.

quote:

I wouldnt be so sure. I fear a mass exodus coming. Hopefully im wrong

This guy had it figured out though…

Some interesting comments from that thread that was claiming inner turmoil...

Sometimes a shakeup like this can be a positive for a team...especially if Glenn was a guy who let his feelings be known to the other players.

I haven't been critical of him all year I was just curious why coaches wear those when it's hot. Stop being a vagina.

Kade will never peak bunting. Let's stop having both he and TyMo do that.

Those three years when super regionals existed and they had top 8 seeds?

By the way, in 2001 (the second of his three years) LSU wasn't a national seed and had to play Tulane at Zephyr. In 2000, Skip's team went undefeated in the SEC Tournament. All in all, doesn't really support your point.

Skip's teams weren't national seeds in 99 or 01.
