I thought this was for sure going to happen. I don't think adding one more team per conference dilutes things too much. One team per conference gets a bye and three games each on Sat. and Sun. of Wild Card weekend.

Blame the NFLPA for this one.

Good. The system is fine as is. Don't need to add playoff teams and water stuff down.
Besides, the human body only has so many games of pro football in it.
Now if the NFL would just add a second bye week to the regular season that teams would get before their Thursday night game, it would be perfect. And it would be too much to ask for, but reducing the number of preseason games from four to two would be the icing on the cake.

Needs to stay at 12. Delay it as much as possible.

Would not mind them going to 7 teams in each conference. This leaves a true advantage to the 1 seed, being the only team with a bye.
It will still be really hard for teams to make the playoffs, and for the NFL it'll just add more revenue.
As far as preseason games go - I wish they'd shorten it to 2, maybe 3 games. I do understand that there is money to be made by having them though.
