The kickstand on the device is multi-stage, and the device is just 9.1mm thick. "This is the tablet than can replace your laptop," claims Panay. Microsoft has moved to a 12-inch screen on the Surface Pro 3 with a 3:2 aspect ratio and HD display, but the new tablet also has thin bezels with a silver and black design.

The new kickstand now supports a "canvas mode" that places the Surface Pro 3 in a 150 degrees angle, designed primarily for inking. The multiple kickstand angles might also help with using the device in your lap as a tablet or laptop as Microsoft has created a new Type Cover that magnetically seals itself to the screen to provide more sturdiness. The kickstand will support three positions, and the Type Cover adapts appropriately at an angle to balance the device out in your lap.

I have the Surface Pro 2 and love it. I may get this when it comes out and pass my Pro 2 down to someone in my company.

Yeah, but laptop replacements are always inferior to laptops in my opinion. I know some people love it, I just don't think we're going to really dilute the laptop industry much more.

Most "laptop replacements" aren't full computers.

The Pro 3 is lighter than a Macbook Air and can be held like an iPad, yet it's running a full version of Windows and comes with a full tactile keyboard.

The Surface Pro is fantastic, but it's too expensive to compete as a tablet and prices itself against the laptop market. I'd rather just buy a laptop at that price point.

I love it b/c i dont have the need for a full blown laptop outside of the office but I am not a big fan of working on an iPad either. I got the Pro 2 and it gives me everything I need from a laptop and also the portability of an iPad (although it is a little bulkier). I am definitely going to be upgrading.

Like my surface pro. Probably too expensive for me to upgrade to this though, but I'd like to.

I loved MS products growing up but I'm more certain than ever they are setting themselves up to be the next Technological Titanic.

Charging for an OS? In 2014? Putting MS:Office documents by default in a MS only format? MS Server edition ( )

This is from someone who has used WinPhone 8 for a while, MS is going down with the ship as the pay-for-OS era ends.

Um, no.

If you can't figure out how to keep a PC free of viruses and malware, then you are either a blue hair , a retard, or just not trying. It's trivially easy.
