Grease was on TV the other night and after watching the part where he was hit in the head by the door at thunder road, it got me thinking that he was scared to drive and chickened out.

Either it was bad acting(highly possible), or he was scared because it seemed like when he told Danny "Yeah" when asked if he wanted him to drive he had already gathered his senses and was fine. Moments later he was jumping and screaming for Danny to win.

I think he chickened out.

I know the movie was setup for Danny to drive but you think they could have done a better job of giving Danny the wheel other than what transpired.

Don't be too hard on him. He thought he had knocked up Rizzo and he was about to lose his car.

I can agree with that. In fact I didnt include the Rizzo being pregnant angle because I assumed that if I mentioned he didnt chicken out but bowed out because of him about to be a father I would have gotten the "Come on this is Grease we are talking about" responses.
