Just finished True Detective... hands down one of the best shows I've ever watched.

Foyle's War or Gently if you like British/PBS type of stuff.
They're both period shows: Foyle WWII and aftermath and Gently in the late 1960s

Foyle's War and the George Gentley series are fantastic. I love them.

Prime Suspect, the original with Helen Mirren, is greatly under appreciated here. There are 7 seasons. Each season, with one exception, focuses on one case for a running time of 3-3.5 hrs.
