Not even two hours from that Corvette Museum sinkhole. Mid-South seems to be a portal to Hell, and then there's those Sinkholes.

Limestone and soil erosion due to water, the stone is easily moved and chipped away….very common in those parts. Region is full of sink holes (see Mammouth Cave).
