anyone experience this from 1st to 2nd gear then back down when slowing? Seems like a pretty common issue in the f150 trannys

My 2011 will occasionally make the noise. I haven't read anything to suggest that its impending mechanical breakdown. It past the warranty point so I'm gonna ride it out.

It's a ford obviously there's gonna be problems with it

Wouldn't be the slip yoke, might be gear lash or something with the posi. Helps if you post details like what year, engine, transmission, etc.

How old is the truck?
That sounds just like worn out U joints.
Does it make a clunk when you shift from reverse to drive?
Crawl under the truck and rotate the driveshaft.
Look for any play in the joints.

my 2010 would do that sometimes
its a common complaint on the forums....some owners say a computer reset allows the truck to relearn your driving style and it helped some people, but i dont know if i believe that

I've been ignoring that for years on my 2009 f 150.
Good to know it's not impending doom...

Borrowed my dad's truck for the evening, and I can definitely feel the clunk. It is more like a quick shudder, but feels the same way as a truck does when it gets axle wrap. The truck has 35,000 miles. My buddy has the same thing, but much worse. No unusual noises
Also noticed a vibration when sitting still in drive that felt like it was coming from somewhere behind the driver's seat in the driveline. No noise, just vibration
My dad's is a 2012 CC FX4 Eco-boost, and my buddy's is an 08 CC FX4 with 120k

How's the piston slap treating you?

Its the end of the driveshaft that goes in the rear axle that needs to be greased. happens all the time.

Your 03 Chevy has an anemic 10-bolt, that just means you don't have the torque or tow anything...

I think Ford sells some sort of special grease to put in the rear yoke.
ETA, check out TSB 4-23-7. Its some kind of white grease with teflon in it.
BTW to the OP. It would help with a year model, mileage and other info.
