This board has gone crazy about various trans/queer initiatives to allow people to choose their own restroom.

Well, the damned Swedes have gone and solved the whole thing. (I've been in Sweden for 5 weeks).

Every public restroom in Sweden has a full lockable door for every toilet. (The deadbolts show a red occupied signal outside, like a porta potty.) Some have a sink inside, some have a couple of wash basins outside the doors. Basically, there are no mens/womens rooms - all are for everybody. No one has to worry about a homo looking at their dick, or a trans/queer who doesn't look like people think they should in their restroom.

Boom. Problem solved. I guess they have to look elsewhere now for their controversies.

All of the public restrooms are unisex?

This would work really well at Tiger Stadium during half time.

Why do we need gender neutral bathrooms? Is it really an issue to transgender people? This is so stupid.

Actually, the old pissing on the wall set-up there > urinals.

I'm not sure if that presented ATL a greater or lesser mindfrick, but it was a hell of a lot more expeditious than what they have now.

Here's where this is heading...

frankly yes we do. While woman loathe unisex bathrooms, they are far superior. Men do a really bad job of keeping their restrooms clean but if they have to share it with a woman, then suddenly its clean! imagine that.

I know a few transgender people. They definitely have issues with the bathroom, but it seems like its mostly MTF that have issues in the bathroom, mainly getting stares either way.

I dont really think this is a pressing issue we need to solve.

The answer is diapers. If everyone just peed and crapped their pants all day instead of going to the restroom, productivity would be way up and there would be no restroom controversies!!

Women will not enjoy the aroma of a unisex restroom where men just finished taking a barbecue/beer shite just ahead of them.

Besides, I'd think that a twenty foot long urinal would be a helluva lot cheaper to install that twenty individual commodes.

Some places in NY do this. It's not just in Sweden and I think it's more about being chic and not about being sensitive to gender issues.

you know how expensive thats going to be? Added costs in the development of businesses because people don't get "Boys have a penis, girls have a vagina."

If this were ever implemented for interstate rest areas they could advertise the change with the slogan "Just When You Thought Our Bathrooms Couldn't Get Any Rape-ier"

Come to think of it, I'm not sure I really want to know what ATL is doing at urinals that is creating a "mind-frick" for him.
