2014 TD.com Baseball Regular Season Awards Results

Here on TD, it's the fans that matter. The fans are who make this site great, as well as making the sports venues at LSU the great experiences they are. With so many baseball games every year, many fans who are passionate about LSU baseball don't get to make all the games. Or, you may be across the state, nation or globe and just not have the means to make it to any games at all. If that's the case, this is where you come for the (somewhat) live BPB, where you can get a detailed analysis of every pitch of every inning. It takes a lot of time and effort by posters to do previews for each series(Stro), game threads(Dro), BPB(liquidrabbit), and the many Boxtards who contribute to the TD.com poll. These guys don't get paid, they do it because they love LSU baseball, and like to discuss it with other people, whether you know what you're talking about or not. With that being said, it's time for the 2014 TD.com Baseball Awards. We not only want to recognize the players, but a few posters who have put in a lot of time and effort this year to make football offseason pass by quicker. So, before tl:dr, here are your nominees.

TEAM MVP
Aaron Nola- It was unanimous. Seriously, not a single vote for anyone else.



DEFENSIVE POY
Mark Laird- This one was close, with Laird edging out Stevie by a couple votes.


OFFENSIVE POY
Andrew Stevenson- Although it wasn't quite unanimous, this one wasn't close, with Stevie receiving all but 3 votes.


FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
Jared Poche- This vote was another very close one, with Poche barely beating out fan favorite Jake Fraley. Perhaps if Fraley had started all year he would have won.


BOXTARD OF THE YEAR AWARD
Although AstroTiger received the most votes, he has admitted multiple times that the work liquidrabbit puts in takes more time and effort than what any other Boxtard does. So, the Boxtard of the Year award this year will be shared by both AstroTiger and liquidrabbit. I think I speak for all LSU baseball fans on TD.com when I say thank you very much, and we appreciate everything you do.
