What do I do with this thing? He hasn't moved at all except to open his mouth and try to hiss at my dogs. Obviously hurt which makes me sad. But he's also creepy and I want him not by my back door.

How bad is he hurt? Whats hurt on him?
If its serious, kill him quickly so he stops suffering

He's probably not hurt, he's probably playing......possum.

Do you have a fence? If so, get shovel, throw it over the fence. Neighbor's problem.

You are white aren't you? Pretend he doesn't exist and wait for it to resolve itself.

Paige needs a friend. Have you talked to her about coming to get it?

Do you live in Australia?

Do you see obvious injury? We had one in house laid on its side and hissed. Picked it up with towel and moved outside away from dogs

He won't move from the spot he's in, even when my dogs got in his face. He's just laying there looking around and shaking. No shovel. And there is no possible way I'm killing him!

If he's hurt and you want to get him help, call the LSU Vet School Small Animal clinic. I've dropped off injured birds there before, I don't see why you couldn't drop off an injured possum.

The only problem with that is I live on the Northshore. Not driving that creepy bast are an hour away. Also, maybe he's just lazy. No obvious injury
