I'm working on the north side if Houston and I have a group of old colleagues working on the southwest side of town. What's a nice course we can meet at, that is somewhat in the middle, nice but not too challenging and fairly inexpensive?

memorial is the only one located centrally ... there are a couple out 290 ... just depends how far out you want to drive and what you mean by "north" ...

I'll check it out but it's not located centrally. I'm looking to be able to split the drive, instead of having to do all the driving.

I'm just north of the woodlands and they're in Sugarland.

I've been to Herman.

I blasted balls over the net at the range too.
Not nearly enough real estate for Nitro.

Lotta hot womenz walking around there too.

List of area courses

I posted cypresswood earlier which is a nice course but is in spring. Cypress lakes is off of 290 and is a decent course.

I'd say Blackhorse or maybe one in Katy, like Cinco Ranch

If he is coming from the Woodlands and they are in Sugarland he would have one hell of a trek to Katy.

With the Grand Pkwy open from 59 to 290 they could make it to 290 from Sugarland in 30 minutes.

If you want to play in Katy, I would recommend Meadowbrook Farms over Cinco Ranch.

i haven't played there in 15 years, and never played there more than a few times ... it was never meant to be great golf ... that said, it's just too constricted ... you def need a hard hat there, and if anyone is a golfer to any extent, there are too many places that are within that price range ... i'd like to see them make it a par 3 course ...

I lived in the apartments off Hermann Park 6 years ago and it was shite then. I guess for the price it was OK.

OP, if you can get them out to spring, Augusta Pines is a good course and it was pristine when I played in March. Cypresswood Tradition course is nice too and usually well kept.

Memorial is closer to your friends, and it will probably be a 5.5-6 hour round. It's a good course, though.
