DSLD acquires first filing of Hoo Shoo Too Road subdivision for $2.2 million

Denham Springs-based DSLD Homes LLC purchased Tuesday the first filing of Oak Ridge Estates, a new subdivision located on the west side of Elliot Road, near Hoo Shoo Too Road, for $2.2 million, according to land records filed with the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court on Wednesday. The first filing comprises 50 of the 149 lots planned for the subdivision, which Daily Report previously reported would be developed on 66 acres, 38% of which will be comprised of lakes and green space. The seller in the deal was DAGR LLC, represented by developers Brandon Dodson and Jonathan Starns. Back when the plans for Oak Ridge Estates were submitted to the city-parish Planning Commission in late 2012, nearby residents complained that the neighborhood's development would worsen flooding in the area, but spokespersons for the subdivision assured the commission that the lakes would prevent any extra flooding. DSLD also recently acquired the 41-lot Myrtle Bluff subdivision between Anselmo Lane and Perkins Road for approximately $2 million. —Rachel Alexander
