Recs for an amp/receiver to push 2 outdoor speakers?

Figured i'd post this here b/c there are a bunch of OBrs that are handy.... I just want to mount a pair of speakers under the carport/patio area and get something to push them. I don't have a home system in place yet, so I just want to put the speakers up with an amp/receiver to control from outside. My buddy has this TIC outdoor deal, but it has horrible reviews and hardly any watts per channel... Any recs would be appreciated.

Anything with multiple zones. You can run your outdoor speakers on the second zone and a 5.1 home system when you're ready to put one in.
I have a denon 1912. Works pretty good. One thing I would be sure to get is one with Bluetooth, so you can stream from your phone. Some only use apples air play, so if you don't have an iPhone, watch out for that.

Just get a decent "stereo" receiver from and reputable brand. Don't need to go overboard for just that.
There are even several cheaper amps you can just hook your phone to as the signal as well.

not a huge "stereo" guy... i assume you are saying you can just hook your phone up play music from it. thats basically all i want, but id be lying if i said i wouldn't want to hook my tv up as well. i have uverse and have wireless boxes so I can just bring out my tv and hooking it up to the speakers would be nice...
but ultimately i just need something to push the 2 speakers for now.

I have an apple airport express ($99) hooked to an onkyo receiver ($250) wired to MTX outdoor weatherproof speakers ($240).
With that setup I can play any music I have on my iPhone (iTunes, pandora, spotify) on it wirelessly. They sound great and can turn them up loud enough to piss off neighbors on the next block if I wanted to.

I quoted stereo because there is a difference between that and an avr receiver. Essentially you could do the same with TV if it has RCA audio outs.

It depends on what you want and how versatile/loud you need to be. If just want nice audio to watch a game outside then a basic bose system or even a soundbar would suffice. If you want to entertain and have an all out ghetto-blastin PA system thatll blow the balls off a charging rhino at 100 yards, the you could go with something like professional powered monitors and run them through a small 4 channel mixer board. I would recommend a pair of Mackie SRM250's powered speakers (10" subs with a horn). Rugged, proven, crystal clear and decent sized footprint. We had two sets of these as our stage monitors when i was playing alot of live music, and on off weekends we'd break these out at the farm and have a mighty fun night. Like i said, not knowing your situation, these may be overkill. If you live in avresidential neighborhood, then no way. If you are in the country and want a system that can excel at anything, head to guitar center and look for these or something similar depending on your price range. Also look into studio desktop monitors. I have a pair of M-Audio (M-40) i believe and for $150, its alot of speaker. I use them as mixing monitors for refording guitar tracks, but if we're having a party, ill open the windows and crank these and get some great sounds.

Easy solution is just get some 2.1 Computer Speakers and plug them into you tv, phone, computer whatever. I have some Klipsch Pro 2.1 plugged into my TV on the my screen porch plugged into the TV. If want to listen to music I do pandora through my Directv box or the Sonic Tap music stations. I can unplug the speakers from the TV and plug it into my phone, boom box, ipod, whatever has a head phone jack. If your TV doesn't have a headphone jack buy a $2 RCA to head phone jack cable.

Yamaha A3000 and some Klipsch speakers. Control the system from a phone or tablet. Never have to put your drink down, inside or out.

The receiver and airport are inside.

All of these recommendations are overkill.
Do you plan on having a rock festival in your back yard? No? Well then, save yourself some dough and buy a Lepai Tripath amp off of Amazon. Use a higher power power supply (the kind of power cord that has a little black box) than the one it comes with - either buy one on Amazon or use one that went with an old laptop you have laying around.

Just get a couple of blue tooth speakers and save yourself some money and time running wires.

I would buy a cheap stereo amp and buy some decent speakers for outdoors. They have a chance of breaking and they won't sound outstanding like a controlled environment (inside).
Yamaha for cheaper speakers
Yamaha
Polk for better speakers
Polk
Sony stereo receiver

Either have it in a well covered area or have it inside and run up the wall and outside.
