I want to get a Wii U so bad. But I feel like this wont be as fun without playing with other people. And now that Im out of college and people are rolling through my apartment daily just dont know how much Id play it by myself

There's always online. Hopefully this is the smoothest online yet for MK, not without Nintendo's weird nanny policies.

I just preordered on amazon. This is as good a time as any to get Wind Waker too. How does the process work for getting the free game? Do I redeem a code and they will mail it to me?

Register the game when you get it here:

It's actually a nice system. The WiiU will net you 160 points, MK8 will net you 60 points (outside of the free game) and then you'll have enough for one of their rotating selections for free.
I got Super Metroid this month. Well worth it.
This means if you're buying a Wii U just for MK8, you'll net two full games and one eShop download for $300 (or so) deluxe set price.
