Setting up above ground pool

I'm setting up a 22' X 52" above ground pool. Is there a 1st time chemical kit I can put or is that what the shock kit will cover? I will be inserting salt after treating the initial water. Thanks in advance for any advise.

God, I have a great story about an above ground pool, but unfortunately I can't tell it here cause I will get banned.

Make sure to put a tarp under it. My buddy got a free one, and the sweat coming off of the bottom rotted out the grass enough to where you could smell it down the road

I am assuming it's a circle and 4' deep.

Bring a sample of the water you are using to fill with to your local pool supply. Have it tested. They will sell you exactly what you need. You will slightly overpay but you will get exact instructions on the amount of each and the correct order.

Level the piss out of the spot. A 1" differential can create huge uneven stresses on one side and can cause a catastrophic failure over time. A sand bed is recommended as well. Is this one of the quick ones from Lowes, or Wal-Mart? If so, change your pump. The cheap ones are just that.

yeah it's the intex metal frame. My main concern is what to add to water after filling the pool up?

What kind of water are you using? Most municipal water is going to be full of chlorine or chloramine when you put it in and will take a couple of days to dissipate. You generally need to wait a couple of days to get reliable readings. Buy and use a pool test kit. The good kits tell you what to use to balance the system. If you are going salt, you may not need to treat with anything. The salt equipment should have some set up instructions. I would check there first.

you should consider putting the above ground pool in the ground to help alleviate the stress of the walls and therefore you can do running flips and shite.

I hope you don't plan on keeping a cheap above ground pool very long...because using a salt water system with a high quality one is even questionable...JMO
