Anyone have any experience with a decent CRM software?

Looking for something basic to help inside support share information, leads, bid dates, contact info, etc with their outside reps. Something they can make notes and have the software help each notify to follow up.

Microsoft dynamics and sales force are over $65 / user which is pretty steep. A co-worker swears by gold mine but he's using a version that is over 10 years old and not tech savvy at all.

I know cloud versions are where everything is headed but I'm not against a full purchase as long as we can synch with mobile, etc.

Zoho CRM is pretty straightforward and relatively cheap. Our folks love it.

Podio is pretty good. Not really a CRM per se, but allows you to create custom apps as well as pre-defined apps. Completly SaaS.

It's a cloud one, so there's no version really. We just have a handful of users. Even at the top level with every feature imaginable, it's only $35 oer user per month.

You're going to have trouble finding something that will sync mobile without a monthly subscription. Even in house CRM software installs are moving to a subscription based model for mobile.

We've rolled out ACT, Microsoft CRM, and sugar to various clients. I hated each one of those projects. Best thing to do is try to find one that fits your business out of the box, invest in it, and use it effectively. We use one geared toward the IT industry and is perfect for our needs.

Recommend swiftpage act! Premium. Additionally, there /is/ a subscription free mobile solution for act!.

Sugar for small business. Also look into integration with your phone system.

Based on the OP, I'd say this also.

Unless he's non-profit. Microsoft's non-profit deals are crazy good.

I assumed that, but the first few places I looked were all $65+ a month and I knew my boss would run me out of his office for even thinking about it. He is very frugal when it comes to technology. Several options listed appear to be viable options and something I can hopefully convince him to spend.

We are a construction supply company, definitely for profit.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

I have salesforce.com on both my laptop and mobile. There may be a better CRM out there but I've not heard about it.
